What you’ll do

The Chapter Lead will serve as a strategic leader overseeing the backend digital domain at Eneco. In this role, you will ensure the robust foundation of our digital platforms and empower our Backend Engineers to effectively support our digital product families, such as Virtual Power Plant. It is crucial to maintain timely delivery of our digital products. As a Chapter Lead, you will play a key role in shaping and promoting the engineering vision and culture. Your responsibilities also include developing the strategic plan for your Chapter. Serving as a sparring partner to Architects, Principal Engineers, and Product Chapter Leads, your extensive engineering background will empower you to challenge stakeholders and establish realistic yet ambitious goals for your Chapter. Emphasizing craftsmanship and ownership, you will consistently strive for excellence, aiming to Drive the Change, Make Each Other Successful, and Deliver the Plan. 

Is this about you?

  • Strong Engineering background in backend .net software development, we are looking for an engineering leader who will be a sparring partner for senior .net developers; 

  • Strong experience leading extensive engineering teams gained from fast-moving and technology-driven companies; 

  • Excellent experience working in a complex environment and supporting strategic technical decisions, 

  • Demonstrable experience building an engineering culture and vision, 

  • People management experience for both highly skilled technical individual contributors and other people managers, 

  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, 

You’ll be responsible for

  • Building a vision for the .net Chapter, developing the engineering domain at a strategic level.  

  • Nurturing an engineering culture in the chapter, emphasizing sharing knowledge and continuous improvement; and extending this cultural impact beyond the chapter to enhance product families and cross-functional collaboration. 

  • Co-developing the vision on the future technology stack and supporting the platform choices within the scope of the chapter (backend and DevOps) 

  • Acting as a sparring partner with other Engineering and Product counterparts  

  • Leading the Digital Chapter, direct management of Team Leads and Principal Engineers 

  • Strategic workforce planning and sourcing strategies for the chapter
