Manager Data

Eneco is currently in a dynamic situation; we are transitioning from a central data department to decentralized data product development across the organization, leveraging Hub & Spoke and Data Mesh principles. The Manager of Data Management Services is responsible for translating the strategic goals of the Data Services department into operational objectives, formulating a roadmap and realising deliverables in her/ his team. He/she is jointly responsible for driving a cultural change through improved data foundations and behaviours towards a highly mature data driven company, for enabling effective democratization of data through improving data awareness, literacy, data management and accelerating the development of data products across Eneco. He/she focuses on integrating powerful Data Management principles into processes and state of the art data platforms, to enable our business teams across Eneco to work safely with data that is fit for purpose. He/she leads the Data Management Services team, sets goals and optimizes individual performance.

In this role your result responsibility will be:

• Span of control approx. 5 - 25 FTE (including external staff)
• Quality & standardization of service towards business domains
• Budget responsible (Opex/Capex)
• Member of the Data Services MT and acts as "trusted advisor" to DTS leadership.

• A Master's degree in information management/ data or comparable education
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in the fields of data (management) and data architecture
• Proven experience in developing and implementing services in a fast-changing environment
• Proven people management experience and being able to empower teams
• Strong analytical thinking & problem-solving skills
• Customer oriented and quality mindset – we continually strive to deliver true customer value
• English professional working proficiency

• Managing the Data Management Services team within Data Services, function as a sparring partner for DTS and business management
• Formulating a long-term vision and roadmap on strengthening our enterprise data management, data literacy and data architecture capabilities
• Co-defining, translating and implementing DTS Data Services strategy by setting and implementing operational objectives
• Optimizing the balance between workforce planning, domain deliverables and working with business partners
• Lead the delivery of related (strategic) projects, programs and Data Management Services across domains within Eneco
• Proactively proposing initiatives to the business and (DTS) leadership for improving Data & enabling democratization, building the Data organisation and increase the productivity/effectivity of Data Management Services
• Prioritizing and planning developments, and manage conflicts between priorities
• Setting goals, monitoring benefits/quality and securing results for your direct reports
• Monitoring the performance of partners, suppliers and vendors, lead where necessary and share insights with Head of Data Services
