Eneco is continuously looking to expand its portfolio by participating in competitive tenders for concessions of new offshore windfarms in the Northwest of Europe. Besides that, Eneco actively assists its shareholders in developing offshore wind in Japan.

What you’ll do

Your job will be to be the linking pin between the Asset Operations team and Eneco's Development and Realisation teams. Taking everything we learn in our operational farms forward to new developments and assessing the envisaged design on maintainability and workability as well as make decisions on the operational setup of the project. Your goal is to make every new windfarm an improved version of its predecessor. In this work you will enjoy the support and expertise of the whole Asset Management & Operations team when required.

This allows you to achieve the intended objectives in an ever-changing environment. You are focused on continuous improvement and change and you are entrepreneurial and commercially driven.

• Master degree or equivalent level of education, general engineering or technical qualification;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the operations and maintenance, experience in the offshore and/or wind sectors is a big plus.
• Assertive, showing initiative and decisive; collaborating and connecting people in an international context;
• Be results-oriented; ability to separate the essentials for the nice-to-have and keep a birds-eye view on the projects.
• Able to cope with working under the high pressure of competitive environments and meeting short deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing English and Dutch;

You’ll be responsible for

• Selecting the O&M strategy for the windfarm. This involves making well-supported choices on for example contracting strategies, logistical setups and required personnel during each stage of the lifetime of the windfarm.
• You are closely involved in the negotiation of turbine service contracts, extra attention is given to the cohesion of this contract with other core contracts like the turbine supply agreement, power purchase agreement and asset management agreement.
• The scrutinizing of all main engineering decisions in the projects on topics like operational safety, maintainability, reliability and the expected effectiveness during the operational lifetime of the windfarm.
• Before making final decisions on the abovementioned engineering decisions you involve, when required, the relevant experts within the Asset Operations team.
• Setting up and keeping up to date the OPEX budget for the windfarm serving as an important input for the business case of the project.
• Having an advisory role to projects run by Eneco's shareholders.

This is where you’ll work

The offshore wind asset operations team, consisting of turbine specialists, BOP and electrical specialists, asset analysts, HSSE and ecology specialists is located in the Eneco HQ and the operational offices in the ports of IJmuiden and Ostend. You will report to the head of offshore wind operations and be based at the Eneco HQ, which is located at 2 minutes walking distance from the Rotterdam Alexander train station. The development team, with whom you will be closely working together is based, depending on the project, in the Rotterdam/The Hague area. Eneco has introduced a new office policy: 40% of the week at the office, 40% working from home and 20% flexible.
