Product Design Manager

As the Product Design Manager, you will be a visionary leader responsible for driving a user-centered product experience that not only adds value to our users but also sets our organization apart in the market. Leveraging your systems-thinking, design, research, product, and technical expertise, you will shape and execute a compelling vision for our products.

As our new Product Design Manager, you have a clear vision of the design chapter and a Proven track record of driving a vision and strategy, elevating products to meet user needs and business goals. You are proactive and enthusiastic; a self-starter with a passion for learning and staying updated with emergent design and technology trends. Furthermore, you possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant business area.
• UX Expertise; : previous hands-on experience as a designer, researcher, or in a similar UX craft, demonstrating a strong understanding of user-centered design principles.
• Managerial Experience: Minimum 5 years of direct-line people management experience.
• Communication Skills; :excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and pitch ideas effectively, backed by data-informed design rationales.
• Design System Knowledge: Experience in building and governing design systems to maintain consistency and quality across products.
• Research and Data Skills: Familiarity with conducting user research, working with AB tests, and utilizing analytics tools to inform design decisions.
• Technical Product Experience: Experience working with data visualizations, rich data interfaces, or highly technical products is a plus.
• Design Tools: Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and other relevant design software.

You will set up our new product design as a design chapter within Digital at Eneco, your key responsibilities include:

Vision-led Product Experience:

• Apply your extensive knowledge of design, research, and technical aspects to create a product experience that aligns with our vision and delivers exceptional user value.
• Drive market differentiation through innovative design solutions that elevate our products above the competition.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Cultivate strong relationships with diverse internal stakeholders, e.g. Head of Engineering & Data and business owners on the commercial side, across the organization, understanding their unique needs and collaborating to deliver well-aligned platform solutions.

Eneco UI (Design System) Governance:

• Mature and evolve the Eneco UI design system, ensuring proper implementation and adherence to maintain a cohesive and high-quality user experience.
• Establish a design contribution model that encourages designers to actively contribute to the design system.

Collaboration and Methodology Standardization:

• Foster collaboration across organizational teams and help standardize design methodologies and ways of working to enhance efficiency and consistency.

Business and UX Objectives:

• Drive the team to deliver on business and UX objectives by effectively managing backlogs and evolving priorities, ensuring team focus and impact.

Data-informed Approach:

• Utilize data-informed insights and a user-centric approach to identify UX opportunities and validate design solutions.

Team Growth and Development:

• Support the growth and development of your team through career mentorship, coaching, and culture-building activities.
• Encourage a test-and-learn culture, working iteratively with UX researchers, writers, and product managers.
