What you’ll do

Due to the increasing production of renewables like wind and solar, the electricity market has an increasing demand for energy storage. Therefor Eneco develops and builds large battery systems, such as our recently announced project in Ville-sur -Haine in Belgium of 50MW/200 MWh. As (senior) Project Engineer you will be working on development and realization of these large scale battery projects.

In the projects you are responsible for the overall engineering process, from concept to detailed design and you are the first point of contact for all technical questions and issues. You manage both internal and external engineers and suppliers. You make sure projects are developed fulfilling all requirements including safety and quality. You use company standards and align with the asset organization, clients and partners. You support in making the right decisions selecting technologies and suppliers for our projects and make sure that suppliers deliver what was agreed. In this way, you'll be making a contribution to a sustainable future.

Is this about you?

You work together with all team members to deliver the projects. In doing so, you are proactive in helping to accelerate the energy transition, while you make sure that quality and safety requirements are met. You are result driven and are able to represent Eneco with clients, suppliers and stakeholders. You have a technical focus, but understand the business challenges of an investor in renewable assets. In addition, you hold the following qualities:

 

  • Master degree or equivalent level of education in electrical engineering, sustainable energy, or equivalent discipline;
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience as project engineer and/or as discipline engineer or battery expert;
  • Knowledge of large scale battery systems, electrical engineering and I&C.
  • Experience with project engineering and working with multidisciplinary teams is an advantage;
  • Good communication skills both verbally and in writing English. Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.

You’ll be responsible for

Within the projects we develop, you are responsible for the scope definition and design of the asset. For this you will work together with the project team and all internal and external stakeholders and make sure the design meets all necessary requirements.

As Project Engineer Battery Systems, you will:

  • Define technical concepts and make technology selections;
  • Manage the engineering process from conceptual design towards detailed engineering, keeping the overview of all disciplines. For this you will work together with internal and external engineers and suppliers;
  • Define and manage the scope of the projects;
  • Prepare Basis of Design and all engineering documents required, cost estimates and technical inputs for the business case;
  • Prepare specifications for assignments for technical consultants, engineering firms and suppliers and evaluate proposals.

This is where you’ll work

You will be part of the business unit Asset Development and Realization. The business unit is active in the development and realization of renewable projects. Once the project is finished, it will be handed over to our asset organization. Eneco has a large project portfolio with an impressive track-record in these challenging and innovative industry.

You will be working for the Engineering & Technology team. This team consists of enthusiastic project engineers and other specialists who enjoy working on the various projects, but also share knowledge, work on professional improvement and regularly undertake social activities together.

At Eneco we work hybrid. You will have a flexible workspace at our modern, bright headquarters in Rotterdam. You can walk from Rotterdam Alexander station to your desk in just a few minutes. But you also sometimes work at project locations or at home.

between €52.000 and €87.000
