What you’ll do
You will play a leading role in a work stream in a tender team preparing for a strong bid. Eneco is ambitious in growing its presence in offshore wind projects in North-West Europe. The competitive landscape, including subsidy free tenders, requires to prepare detailed bids which include the commercial aspects of the project, e.g. financing and Power Offtake arrangements as well as the technical and contracting aspects of the projects. The Senior Business Developer has a responsibility to contribute to the development of the offshore wind projects in the Eneco pipeline, working to meet the project return requirements set by the Eneco Board of Directors.
Is this about you?
- Relevant (preferably Financial or Technical) degree or diploma with minimum
- 8+ years experience in a sector relevant to this job profile;
- Experience of the energy/utilities/PPP sector and an understanding of the mechanisms in the commodity market. Preferably direct offshore wind experience;
- You have a demonstrable track record of commercial tender participation or contract negotiation;
- You have strong project management skills with good organizational skills and are able to work in/lead multi-discipline teams;
- Also you have good communication skills and the ability to operate in complex multi-party stakeholder environments;
- Professional English language skills;
You’ll be responsible for
- Leading a work stream (or similar role), likely in combination with joint venture partners, in the tender team;
- Actively pursuing a competitive edge to realize a winning bid. As an example in the most recent tenders in the Netherlands the differentiators were System Integration and Ecology;
- You will develop partnerships and relations with relevant innovative companies and organization active in the Offshore wind domain;
- You will be responsible for the representation of the company standards and working with stakeholders and contractors to ensure the end result is delivered to the highest quality and safety;
- Chair meetings and prepare reports. Submit regular and timely reporting and management information.

You will report to the Head of Development Offshore Wind and be part of the business
development team based in Rotterdam. We frequently work in consortia with
other developers and/or leading international companies active in the field of
Renewable Energy and Offshore Wind specifically.
The Offshore Wind Development team is a small team which plays a central role in Eneco's offshore wind development. The team is a combination of young and experienced people with a commercial or technical background. We collaborate intensively with the Offshore Wind Engineering team. In day-to-day practice the Senior Business Developer will also be part of one (or more) project teams.
