What you’ll do

You will take responsibility and ownership for the software design and implementation of a specific subdomain (read: 1 team) within our VPP product team. You will structure assignments into simple- and medium-level tasks for junior and medior colleagues in the team, and you'll be supervising their work. Next to supervising the work of team members, you will be defining and developing code that meets the highest standards of maintainability, robustness, performance and scalability.

Is this about you?

  • Excellent software engineer skills in C# and probably also in: C, C++, Java, Python and experience with MS Azure cloud technology, micro services, databases, APIs, event patterns and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Highly experienced with all aspects of the software development cycle, namely design, implementation and run.
  • Knowledgeable in coding best standards and practices, coding documentation, and project management tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in making design and architecture decisions based on software architecture principles, patterns, and business priority.
  • Ability to lead a team of engineers by coaching and mentoring them
  • Able to argue technology decisions and convince those around you in a constructive manner.


  • Academic working and thinking level (MSc in Computer Science or similar educational background) with 10+ years of relevant work experience, primarily in operational real-time mission-critical systems.
  • Senior software developer
  • 5+ years of C# .NET development experience
  • Dealing with customers in a project context
  • Multiple years of experience working on complex software projects

You’ll be responsible for

Next to your qualities as a experienced full-stack developer, you will be responsible for:

  • a well-performing team: a positive work atmosphere, clear communication and expectations within the development team
  • developing the technical roadmap: initiate, plan, design, and coordinate the project-/activities pipeline
  • delivering - together with the team - solid estimations of future work packages
  • acting as the most important communication channel with other teams (and/or team leads) within the project or value chain as well as (senior) management
  • investigating new technologies
