In this role you will be responsible for commercial contract management, scanning the market for opportunities and providing market knowledge to the team and assist our commercial colleagues in developing and closing new deals.

What are you going to do?

It is our ambition to build an Eneco portfolio that is fully sustainable with zero CO2 emissions by 2035. This requires CO2 free flexibility to balance our intermittent wind and solar production. The S&O Commodities & Flex team is settings its targets to build this Eneco portfolio in North Western Europe. You will be working in a dynamic, diverse, enthusiastic, innovative and above all highly motivated work environment.

As Commercial Analyst you will be responsible for management and the improvement of existing and new contracts. You work in an international market. You built your knowledge on market rules and regulations that influence the commercial aspects of deals and develop your understanding on the content and dynamics of complex contracts. You will have an eye for different interests of stakeholders and (learn to) resolve issues with creativity and together with the team reach a successful deal. In short, you enable and work alongside the structurers in the team to create results to contribute to a sustainable future. As a Commercial Analyst you will have the opportunity to grow into a Structurer position.  

Together with your colleagues and with your dedication to be successful, Eneco will be in a position to manage its portfolio as good as possible and to maintain and extend its portfolio in the North Western part of the European energy market.

You are responsible for:

  • Contract management of existing contracts. If you spot contract improvements you (help to) identify how to improve the contracts;
  • renegotiating/reselling existing contracts together with a structurer, enabling internal alignment;
  • providing the team with presentations on market developments. These include subsidy regimes, changes to the regulations on flex products from TSO's, etc;
  • share your creativity to create marketing information packages that can be shared with potential clients to share our ideas and propositions;
  • supporting the team by providing relevant information on performance of the team by keeping track of commercial results and prospects.

What do you bring?

  • Enthusiasm! You bring your skills and experiences to an energetic and motivated team to make the energy transition happen and you are eager to learn;
  • An intrinsic interest to enable the energy transition, you share your ideas and feedback, dare to make decisions, you are energetic and have a positive mindset and drive for change to turn ideas into solutions;
  • You have already have a few years (1- 3 years) of relevant working experience within the field of business development or within a commercial environment;
  • You preferably have a bachelor or master in business economics/administration;
  • You are capable of bringing structure to a challenge/problem and for example know how to translate a problem into a(n) (excel) model.

Where are you going to work?

Structuring & Origination (S&O) is a department within the business unit Eneco Energy Trade (EET) - the international trading department of Eneco - where we work with about 140 professional colleagues on the success of Eneco. The department can be a busy and sometimes hectic environment. We are agile and communicate in an informal and collegial manner.

S&O consists of 3 specialties, where S&O Commodities & Flex bears the responsibility for closing (non-) standards sourcing and sales contracts for the supply of electricity with large counterparties. Also S&O C&F manages the contracts with power plants, battery projects and TSO's. Next to that we actively search for flexibility to balance the Eneco portfolio and the team is involved in larger projects and negotiations of other Eneco business units that require knowledge and expertise of the energy commodity markets. You will be joining a friendly, driven team of 10 persons who loves to do sporting activities together and go out for drinks so now and then.

Other specialties within the Eneco Trade department are aimed at contracting wind and solar production and selling that production to large corporate clients (S&O Client sources) and developing commercial activities in the UK (S&O UK).

What do we have to offer?

  • We reward you with a gross annual salary between €44.000 And €62.000 (annual salary including 8% holiday allowance based on a full-time annual contract), depending on knowledge and experience;
  • An additional flexible budget of 14% of your gross annual salary (for buying extra days of i.e.);
  • A good pension scheme, in which Eneco pays 70% of the pension premium, whereby you accrue the maximum pension permitted by the tax authorities;
