Stage Energy Operations
Design and build the energy system of the future
You work at the heart of the energy transition
Work in a highly complex environment in a team with a can-do mentality

Why choose for Eneco?

We want everyone to be able to effortlessly participate in the energy transition. That is only possible when we help customers even better. We remove the barriers to sustainability for them by listening and knowing what the customer really needs. As a leader in the energy transition, Eneco is the first to be confronted with new sustainable energy sources and new ways of storing and managing energy.

What are you going to do?

Eneco has an ambitious growth agenda. Due to the rapid growth of renewable energy sources (mainly wind and solar) in Eneco's portfolio, the optimal and real-time control of our assets is becoming increasingly important due to fluctuating prices. Steering our assets to balance the electricity grid and to maximize their value requires constant optimization of our asset portfolio (wind and solar parks, gas plants, batteries, e-boilers, and virtual-power-plants). We are preparing our optimization platform for the future to efficiently control more than 10.000 distributed energy resources in order to unlock the full potential of renewable energy sources. As intern at Energy Operations you will contribute to the optimization and steering platform of the future!

You are responsible for:

  • Select, develop and test different optimization methods;
  • Evaluate both internal and external solutions to optimize Eneco's asset portfolio;
  • Define the optimization and steering platform of the future.

What do you bring?

You work together as one team to accomplish one mission. You are proactive in helping to accelerate the energy transition. You create space to exchange insights and opinions with colleagues and take responsibility for contributing to the joint plan.

  • You have the working and thinking level of a Master student, preferably with a technical background;
  • You have a can-do mentality and work independently and proactively;
  • You have good communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and verbally;
  • Experience with programming (e.g. with Phyton);
  • Professional knowledge of the energy world and/or IT is a plus.

Where are you going to work?

A corporate that is big enough to get things done with the flexibility and innovative power of a startup. You will be working in a beautiful modern and light building, in a location that is easily accessible: a 2-minute walk from metro and train station Rotterdam-Alexander.  Eneco is active in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. The Energy Operations team consists of 14 people. We rely heavily on IT-driven processes.

What do we have to offer?

  • A wonderful internship compensation.
  • Room to develop yourself according to your interests.
  • Good and personal coaching by your future internship supervisor: your development is key for us.
  • Working via 'the new way of working', so a lot of freedom and flexibility!
